This exercise allowed us to explore a corner in Louis Kahn's Fisher House. We had to focus on the interior of this corner and understand the unconventional windows that Louis Kahn used for this house.
Building: Fisher House Site Model Architect: Louis Kahn Scale: 1:200
This was the structure beneath the site model. We were required to create a site model that was unconventional and did not use the technique of cutting contour lines.
We were given a section and then we had to create a model from that section according to the five words that was given to us. The word that was chosen in this case was Layering.
This exercise had three components. First we had to make just a regular house. Then we had to make a second house and create openings so that it would fit nicely with the first house. Finally, we had to design the third house so that it could fit in with both the other two houses.
